I live in a rural area and people here, in the last few weeks, have begun stepping up food and dollar donations to the local food pantry. Our nearest chain supermarkets and a Walmart are 40 minutes away, in a small city that is mostly homogeneous, racially and/or culturally, and a large percentage lower-income working class. I am wondering how it will play out over there. I'll be surprised if any of the *locals* try and loot (the constabulary are polite and fair but no-nonsense) but I won't put it past people coming over from the larger cities to steal.
