This isn’t a lone crusade—it’s backed by a cadre of Jewish megadonors like hedge fund titans Paul Singer and John Paulson, who’ve already funneled millions into the effort. Their shared grievance? Massie’s staunch opposition to unchecked U.S. foreign aid to Israel, a nation critics argue has fueled endless wars and eroded American sovereignty.
Massie, a libertarian-leaning engineer and MIT alum, has long been a thorn in the side of interventionist hawks. In May 2025, he ignited fury by calling for an end to all military aid to Israel amid its escalating Gaza operations, labeling it a drain on U.S. taxpayers and a catalyst for regional instability. “We’re borrowing money from China to send to Ukraine and Israel—it’s absurd,” Massie tweeted, echoing his votes against billions in supplemental aid packages.
