Netanyahu: “Historic Peace Agreement With Lebanon” — Will Hezbollah Disarm?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel has agreed to a 10-day temporary ceasefire with Lebanon to open direct negotiations toward what he called a “historic and sustainable peace agreement” between the two countries — the first serious talks in over 40 years. Netanyahu made clear that the core condition for any lasting deal is the full disarmament of Hezbollah and all other non-state armed groups in Lebanon, allowing the Lebanese state to regain sovereignty over its territory.
